Apple may release a new Smart Keyboard with a scissor switch design for the next-generation iPad or iPad Pro models, a report from DigiTimes claims. This report, however, is very uncertain and we may not see a scissor switch Smart Keyboard.

The report is believe to receive the Smart Keyboard accessories and not a built-in keyboard. As Apple only recently switched back to scissor switches in their 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro, it is unlikely that they will adopt it with the next Smart Keyboard. They might switch the switches on the Smart Keyboard after all of their MacBooks have switched over.
In contradiction, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the iPad keyboards would continue using the rubber dome design in 2020-21.
We think that it would be amazing if the Smart Keyboard adopted the scissor switches, but do not think that it will happen this year. Do you think Apple should and do you think they will? Let us know in the comments below!
