iOS
Apple stats that in iOS 12 they are doubling down on performance. The new version will support all devices that can run iOS 11. This means that they are focusing efforts on older devices will optimizing all devices while under load.
Photos
The app now include search suggestions, which includes places, events, and using multiple search terms at once. There is an all new "For You" tab which will include photos.
Siri
Apple is adding shortcuts to Siri. This will allow the end user to assign custom phrases to perform set actions. In addition, Siri suggestions on the lock screen. The ability to set custom phrases will be available through the new Shortcuts app.

The News app has a new browse tab that shows articles that you may like. The app also has a new sidebar on the iPad.
Apple has rebuild the Stocks app, adding Apple News to the stock news. Also the app is coming to the iPad.
The Voice Memos app has also been rebuilt. It is also coming to the iPad with iCloud support for the memos.
iBooks has a new design and is being renamed to Apple Books.
Now CarPlay has support for third party navigation apps.
Limit Distractions Features
A new Do Not Disturb during BedTime, which will disable the showing of notifications at night. There is now support for grouped notifications. Finally, a new app called ScreenTime. This app reports activity of your device.
Messages
Now, Animojis includes tongue detection. It also has new faces such as the Ghost, Koala Tiger, and T-Rex. There is now Memojis where you can make your own Animoji.
FaceTime
There is new group FaceTime which includes support for up to 32 people at once. This is now integrated into Messages.
