It is now October 28 and with 3 more days in the month, it does not seem as though Apple will host an October event this year as we predicted. This likely means that the far rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro will not be launched this month. So, when could we really see this machine?
A Message From Our Sponsor:
To start off, we do not know and we will not know until Apple says when or simply does it. It is still a possibility that the machine be unveiled via a press release this month, but due to the design changes and updated form factor, it is unlikely.
Instead, we may be waiting until Apple's March event to see any new MacBook Pro. This gives Apple time to finish engineering components and may adjustments to the design as needed. Apple may have needed extra time to create the thinner scissor keyboard that has been rumored for the device.
I believe that this device would kept the USB-C only ports, maybe adding a 1-2 more due to the increased body size. The hope is that they would kept the same spacing as to kept capability with current dual port USB-C docks/dongles. If the device were to add more USB-C ports on one side, it may be possible to combine them to give more PCIe lanes to something like an eGPU.
