Recently Pangu released an updated utility for iOS 9.0-9.1.. They also mentioned that they will release a jailbreak for the Apple TV Gen. 4. The jailbreak group seems very busy these days.
When Pangu released the utility, they gave thanks to Jung Hoon Lee, known as Lokihardt, a Korean security expert. He found the kernel exploit that Pangu used in their utility. Sadly, the exploit was only on 64-bit devices.
After the release of the said utility, Pangu announced that they would release a jailbreak for the Apple TV Gen. 4 sometime this week, likely tomorrow. Pangu tweeted on March 11, 2016:

We will release jb for Apple TV4(9.0.x) next week which only has SSH access. It's mainly for security researches and jailbreak developers.
This utility will likely open up a lot of possibilities that have not been thought of. Remember, the last Apple TV to be jailbroken was the Gen. 2. This allows for more suspense than normal.
We hope that a fully functioning jailbreak for the latest firmware will be released shortly. We also want the said jailbreak for the Apple TV (imagine the possibilities). Thanks for reading. Sorry about missing a post last week, we hope to get over our writers block soon, before Apple's March Event next Monday.
