According to Economic Daily News (EDN), the mass production of the new iPhones, supposedly iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s. These iPhones are to be announced in September and become available to the general public in October. In this post, we break down why this is important and what caused the possible delay.
For the last couple years, Apple has announced its new iPhone in early September and then released it just over a week along-side the new version of iOS. Take last year for example, as Apple unveiled the iPhone 7 September 7th and it was available on September 16th.
Economic News Daily claims that the production is on schedule. But as you can tell, if the iPhones became available in October, they would be delayed, at least compared to the past couple releases.
It seems that the mass production of iPhone components will start in June, with
TSMC making A11 SoC wafers as soon as June 10th. The production of parts will still be considered delayed though this may not seem like it.
Apple is expected to release 3 new iPhone models. They are expected to release iPhone 7s and 7s Plus. Also, they are rumored to release an 'iPhone 8' which would have a radical redesign.
