Last week Apple released iOS 9.2 to the public. Then on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, they released iOS 9.2.1 beta 1 to all registered developers. So far we have word that Pangu is working on a utility for iOS 9.1-9.2. No one knows for sure when or if they will actually release a jailbreak utility.
With the news of the recent release to developers, some saw that it could push back the release of the next jailbreak utility or it may speed it up. We saw this situation earlier with iOS 9.0.1-9.0.2. Pangu had vulnerabilities that were patched in the beta version of 9.1 so they went ahead and released a jailbreak. We don’t know if this is the situation but if it is expect a jailbreak soon.
Everyone is keep in the dark regarding the release of the next jailbreak for many reasons. One main reasons is because they can’t promise anything. Another would be to get people off their backs. This means that they could go into the dark and work on a utility without all the pressure from the jailbreak community. This also allows them to work on a utility without the worry of Apple possibly patching the vulnerabilities.
