Apple released iOS 9.3.2 on Monday, May 16th. The update appeared to be a minor update. But it came with a surprise, a very nasty surprise. The firmware is bricking iPad Pros.
Affected devices install iOS 9.3.2 and restart, the users are presented with an "Error 56" code which tells them to connect to iTunes. Connecting the device to iTunes does nothing, but forces it to reboot and return to the same state. Error 56 is loosely described as a "hardware issue", according to Apple's code guide, which does not sound right.
iOS 9 has already suffered numerous high profile problems. This should not be because iOS 9 was originally a fine tuning of iOS 8.
We recommend that everyone stay clear of iOS 9.3.2. This is until we find out more about this problem. We apologize for the lack of post recently. We hope to back on schedule by next week.
